As of June 2015, Under Armour will become the official kit supplier of the Basketball England national programmes.

Under Armour, a leader in sports apparel and footwear, will be joining forces with Basketball England to provide the national teams with playing kit and off court apparel, as well as kitting out the management and coaching staff.

Founded in 1996 by current President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. Recognised as the fastest growing performance brand in the United States, Under Armour has an unrivalled reputation for innovation with every product designed to improve athlete performance.

With the agreement kicking off in June 2015, the national teams will be allocated kit with a unique design specifically devised for the England U 16 and U18 men’s and women’s team.

The teams will be showcasing the new kit at the European Championships in July when all teams will be looking to stay in Division A; an achievement reached in 2014 and a feat the performance team at Basketball England will be working hard to maintain.

The partnership is already in full swing, with Under Armour recently attending the Basketball national team camps to gain feedback from the players, coaches and management teams; ensuring optimum playing levels and comfort are reached through the performance materials of the products.

Damian Cooper, MD UA Teamsports said, “Under Armour Teamsports are excited to partner up with the Basketball England. Basketball is now a key global sport for the brand and we want to ensure that we provide Basketball England and all teams with the best product available and that looks good and performs for each player”.

Under Armour will be supporting Basketball England with a unique grass roots initative whereby incentives will be offered to all clubs wishing to purchase sets of playing kit for their own domestic use. Any club wishing to pursue this for the start of 2015/16 season is encouraged to contact Basketball England for more details.

Mark Clark, Chief Executive of Basketball England commented on the new relationship, ”We’re delighted to be working so closely with Under Armour and are excited to collaborate to offer fantastic playing products for our national team set up. Making sure we provide our teams with the best the market can offer is important to ensure they can maximize their performance on court and build team spirit off it. Being able to offer incentive schemes to our clubs is a fantastic addition to the agreement and we hope our clubs will take advantage of this opportunity to work with one of the best sport brands in the world.”
